Maná 75 deserves first place in our Best Restaurants in Barcelona. Located in the La Barceloneta neighborhood, there are so many features to highlight about Maná 75 that it’s hard to choose just one. Among the first things that attract the most attention is its cozy interior. When you access Maná 75, you feel the essence of the warmest, most comforting, and most vital Barcelona. The inside of the building has a very modern, bright, and unique look.
In fact, many people say that it is one of the places with the most natural light in all of Barcelona, which allows the magic of the Mediterranean to seduce and captivate you regardless of the time of year you are in. The motto of this restaurant is “Mediterranean Gastronomic Experience,”, so the culinary offer that you can find in it is at the height of its decoration: from the typical “tapas” served in the purest Spanish style (don’t miss the patatas bravas, Andalusian-style squid, and croquettes) to all kinds of rice dishes (their specialty) and fideuás to share between at least two people.
Second place in our Best Restaurants in Barcelona is occupied by the emblematic 7 Portes. As a reference in restaurants in Barcelona, it offers you an extensive journey through traditional Catalan cuisine without giving up timid international culinary contributions. Its classic decoration gives it a very delicate and cozy atmosphere through which you can explore, bite by bite, the 185 years of history that this restaurant carries behind it.
It is famed for its rice dishes and paellas, but it also has a diverse gourmet offering that includes salads, seafood, pork, fish, and typical Catalan specialties like delectable truffled cannelloni and classic cod fritters, which are highly rated on Google. Many customers claim that the cannelloni at 7 Portes are the greatest in Barcelona. Don’t you want to try them?
The third place in the Top Barcelona Restaurants list is held by the tapas restaurant Vinitus, which has two premises in Barcelona: one located on Calle Aragón and the other on Calle Consell de Cent. Choose the one that is closest to you! It is one of the restaurants with the best value for money in Barcelona.
People are drawn in by the beauty of its bright, open interior. So, people want to wait in line at the door to try some of the 1,001 tapas and pinchos on the menu. Many of its customers come back often for a variety of reasons, such as the great quality-to-price ratio of its food (especially tapas), the “good vibes” that the place gives off and the great customer service.
At the Vinitus Restaurant, they only use fresh, high-quality ingredients. You can see for yourself by looking at their bar, where they proudly display their goods.

Perfect to try the specialty of the house:
PAELLA!
If you’re in Barcelona, you’re probably hungry for good tapas. Don’t look any further, because Cervecera Catalana will give you everything you want. This place is run by the same people who run the Vinitus Restaurant, and it shows in the food and presentation. This restaurant is known for giving good value for what you pay, having fast service, and owning a menu with a lot of different options.
In the heart of the Eixample, you’ll find a restaurant that’s perfect for a spontaneous meal where you and your companions may order whatever sounds good and share as much of it as you want (think: montaditos, pinchos, and tapas) until you’re all stuffed. Some claim that the staff is so fast at bringing food that if you order too much at once, they will almost quickly load the whole table with tapas and other delicacies. To prevent food waste, it is essential to order slowly and according to your hunger level.
Coming in fifth place on the Top Barcelona Restaurants list is restaurant El Xampanyet. According to Forbes, visiting El Xampanyet is an authentic local tapas experience that no one in Barri Gòtic should miss out on. Since 1929, El Xampanyet has been a classic in El Born; it even appears in some novels set in Barcelona. El Xampanyet is one of those places that, over the years, has not only not lost its natural charm, but also known how to enhance and improve it.
The big bar of El Xampanyet is often busy with visitors and regulars who decide to give this charming corner of Barcelona a well-deserved chance, where the mood is always calm, happy, and extremely inviting. Their specialty is anchovies, although they also offer a decent selection of preserves, salty meats, cheeses, Iberian sausages, and pinchos. El Xampanyet is the place to go for classic tapas, but not for a “spoon dish” supper.
The Can Cortada restaurant comes in at number 6 on our Top Barcelona Restaurants list for a very specific reason: its large and delicious menu is one of those that will make you want to try everything. Can Cortada is an authentic castle and part of the artistic heritage of Barcelona. Since 1994, the year it opened its doors, this emblematic restaurant has offered quality Catalan cuisine, specializing in the best meats.
Many reviewers highlight the terms “magic” and “show” in their google reviews perhaps because this is due to the ability of how the chefs slice the meat and how the restaurant makes you feel right at home. This is why I recommend visiting this restaurant.
El Chigre 1769 is a Catalan-Asturian vermouth and cider house near the Ciutadella Park. It works with local farmers and only uses organic products. Its goal is to please the taste buds of anyone who dares to try the fusion of Catalan and Asturian cuisines.
They have a large menu with a lot of high-quality beers, ciders, and wines to make the whole experience even better. The red prawns, Iberian shoulder, and potatoes stuffed with cheeks are some of the best dishes. The green salad with mustard and honey and the grilled Prat artichokes are two of the best vegetarian options. You won’t be bored by the Asturian bean stew, black rice with prawns, or grilled mussels, either.
The elegant and sophisticated ambience , the New-York style decoration, and the leather seats, are the first sign of excellence when visiting the Alba Granados restaurant. You can choose between one of the two floors: the 1st one with a bar from the early 20th century, the main dining room, a wine cellar and the kitchen for everyone to see. The 2nd floor you can find the ideal area for a more private setting – such as for dates and romantic dinners.
The stars of its cuisine are the 1st quality products such as Roxa beef or Wild fish. You can’t miss the Catalan cuisine classics either, such as paella, “broken” eggs or croquetas.
Opened in 1897 and centre of the modernist movement, today Els 4 Gats is one of the most famous and recognized restaurant in Barcelona. Found at the heart of the Gothic Quarter, the historical centre of the city – in its days was visited by known artists such as Gaudí, Manolo Hugué, Isaac Albériz, Enric Granados and Lluís Millet. Currently it is obligatory stop for tourists and locals looking for the traditional Catalan experience.
Els 4Gats is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing meal, a romantic dinner, a casual encounter with friends or informal “afterwork” meetings. The talented chefs use fresh and high-quality ingredients to create innovative and delicious dishes that activate your senses.
Gala Restaurante, Barcelona, is the new trendy restaurant in Barcelona, and with good reason. Opened relatively recently, this iconic venue encompasses many things at once: a merry-go-round, a hidden dance hall, a tarot card reader, a nose-shaped fountain, and a dining room (which could just as well be a small theater, making this one hell of a dining experience).
Gala Restaurante is in the middle of the city at 286 Calle Provenca. Its most impressive feature is the way it is decorated. There are four rooms in the restaurant. One of them is outside and has a beautiful fountain and patio where you can have lunch, dinner, or a drink in the afternoon, depending on the weather. In the true Dalí style, this space has a look that is both daring and strange. In fact, her name is Gala, which is the name of the woman who inspired this artist.
The food at the Gala is traditional Mediterranean food. Traditional dishes are cooked simply with the best ingredients. Daíl didn’t like fancy or overly complicated dishes, but he did like simple and honest Catalan food, so the menu is a tribute to him.
Since it opened in the summer of 2011, Boca Grande has become a major part of Barcelona’s nightlife. Its spectacular design by Lázaro Rosa-Violán gives the place a unique atmosphere. Its excellent service and high-quality food make any stay in Boca Grande an authentic experience. It also has a high-end wine cellar and one of the best cocktail bars in all of Barcelona called Boca Chica.
Many famous people, locals, and tourists have made this restaurant a must-visit. The restaurant is known for providing privacy and secrecy to its patrons.
El Nacional is a stunning, open-concept building that was once a railroad station and now has a number of excellent dining and drinking establishments. Tourists flock there because of its newness and proximity to Plaça de Catalunya, but locals like it anyway. It’s ideal for a relaxing supper or a nightcap with beer and tapas after a day of touring.
Each restaurant specializes in a theme. At La Braseria, you can enjoy a wide variety of grilled meats. On the other hand, La Llotja will transport you to the Mediterranean; In it you can enjoy grilled, baked, grilled or steamed fish. At La Taperia, you can taste tapas and rice dishes, while at La Parada you will give yourself a well-deserved “stop” where you can enjoy all kinds of delicatessen, both sweet and savory.
The Salvaje dining experience is built on three pillars: an unusual building, delicious Asian cuisine full of fusion, and a laid-back environment that brightens up the soul. After finding success in Miami, Bogotá, and Panama, this innovative idea has found a new home in Barcelona. What is so exciting with Salvaje you ask?
In Salvaje, you’ll dine properly, drink distinctive original drinks, and be amazed by the live acts in its massive 1000-square-meter venue. Salvaje’s decoration—vegetation, wood, sculptures with natural references, and design lamps with Asian influences —is the first thing that draws the eye. As the restaurant’s logo says, it’s aimed to “awaken your craziest side” while eating high-end cuisine.

Our Best Barcelona Restaurants list includes Gresca. It is a Michelin Guide-recommended restaurant in Eixample. The Gresca Restaurant, with its “signature” food, is on one side of the bar, while the Gresca Bar, on the other side, is simpler but genuine and uses high-quality ingredients. The Gresca Bar serves just tapas, perfect for sharing. If you have the desire to try different wines from Spain, Gresca has a large wine selection to fulfill your taste buds.
The Raó Restaurant is worth a special mention. Its motto is “where the fine meets the informal,” and is known for serving modern Catalan food made with local ingredients. Their dishes are a mix of traditional local food with a modern and creative personal touch. The restaurant is hidden in one of the streets around the Rambla (Carrer de les Sitges), a charming area that is close to Plaza Catalunya.
Its beautiful atmosphere, the savoir-faire of the staff, and the creative cuisine make it a perfect spot for an evening dinner in Barcelona. Raó Restaurant is, they say, an authentic oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Canaletas.
The Michelin Guide says that the Mont Bar gastrobar is a “bistronomic” restaurant that gets away from the classic. It is in the Eixample neighborhood of Barcelona and serves a wide range of tapas and traditional dishes with a modern twist. Its menu is always changing because it is based on seasonal ingredients that are carefully chosen, always fresh, local, and organic, and often come straight from their own farms. They also have a wine cellar with more than 250 wines. The Mont Bar restaurant in Catalonia’s most remote area, the Aran Valley, combines the knowledge of Mont’s proprietors with a youthful, imaginative, and creative cooking crew to create classic Catalan food.
On our Top Barcelona Restaurants list, is a special mention that deserves to be named; MO The Veggie Lab Restaurant.
Hidden in the legendary Plaza del Sol in the heart of the Gràcia neighborhood, is a restaurant that is good for everyone. Vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters can all enjoy a casual and easygoing gastronomic vegetarian cuisine that uses local, and nearby products. MO the Vegetable Lab is a restaurant that few people are familiar with. It has a lounge on the ground floor of the hotel and a rooftop bar where you can enjoy the view of the square with friends.
With a very charming interior and beautiful garden, El Trapío is one of the most charming restaurants in all Barcelona. Its exterior is a beautiful residential modernist tower dating back to 1880 – which has been giving service to the restaurant and its diners for more than 40 years.
It doesn’t go unnoticed with the pond that decorates the large terrace – the same that gives itself to the enjoyment of lunches or dinners in summer with friends or family. Quality, local produce and market gastronomy, fuse together to offer exquisite plates such as the Steak Tartar, hake, foie or the classic “virutas”.
A different kind of restaurant – one to share Cal Pep is a restaurant that has known how to create its own essence with tapas to share. A great establishment to pass time in the evenings chatting with friends while tasting high-quality tapas and to the mercy of great service. The preparations are to the client’s view, also with fresh and in-season ingredients which are treated carefully and prepared in a simple way to enhance their flavours.
In its interior, a large dining room is on offer for events or meetings of up to 26 people. On the other hand, if you visit the space and its full, don’t doubt to wait by the Bar enjoying one of their cocktails and elaborate preparations. If that wasn’t enough, we can’t stop mentioning that Cal Pep is positioned number 31 in the list of “The Best Restaurants in the World”.
The famous Botafumeiro restaurant has won the title of the “best shellfish restaurant in Barcelona”. More than 50 years giving pleasure to the most exquisite palates in the centre of the city. Its saloon offers the ideal space for large family or friends groups and also more private spaces too, if desired.
The classic decoration and the pictures of famous characters that frequently visit, remind us of the exceptional quality of the service and attention. You can’t miss the carabineer, clams, or the typical spider crab. If there is anything that shines about this establishment are that all products are fresh and of top quality.
Opened in 1997, La Muscleria is a restaurant whose specialty was very clear from the start, hence its original name. The restaurant is “dedicated body and soul to mussels” which is prepared in infinite ways and served in abundant portions accompanied by chips. A young and dynamic place, ideal for groups, with an original and cheap offer.
Their tapas are cheap and don’t just consist of canned mussels. They serve cuttlefish, squid, cod fritters, croquettes, patatas bravas, etc.
Even though they cook mussels in 50 different ways, their best dishes are tiger mussels (with tomato, onion, and bug, battered and spicy), mussels with squid, mussels with blue cheese, and mussels with Asturian cider. What a surprise!
We couldn’t leave off the classic Flamant from our list of the best restaurants in Barcelona. Its menu is based on Catalan food, but it also has Asian, Italian, South American, and even Nordic flavors. Their dishes are always made with fresh, local ingredients and have a mix of Mediterranean and traditional flavors that will make you want to eat there as soon as you walk in.
Have an important business meeting? Flamant has a lot of space for groups to use. They also have a nice terrace outside.
La Paradeta is a seafood restaurant that does things in a very unusual way. It has eight stores with self-service in Barcelona and Sitges. Even though La Paradeta Sants was the first one to open in 1994, the restaurant has become so popular that there are now many others all over Barcelona, including in El Born, Sagrada Familia, La Meridiana, Passeig de Gràcia, the Parallel area, and the heart of the Gràcia neighborhood.
The first thing you see when you walk into this seafood restaurant is the fish market. Yes, it means exactly what it says: it is open like a fish market. After that, all you have to do is ask for what you like and how it’s cooked. Do you like to grill it or fry it? Then, all you have to do is pay them to give you your number… (Yes, as if it were a fish market.) and wait for them to call you. Pick up your plate, bring it to the table, and taste the Mediterranean!
Forbes said that Boa-Bao Restaurant was one of the best places to eat in Barcelona in 2021, and people still think of it that way. This laid-back Asian canteen opened in 2019 with the goal of combining recipes, inspiration, and iconic details. It is located in a former art gallery and serves a wide range of Asian specialties, such as dim sum, baos, curries, sushi, tartare, and soups for sharing. The cooks always use fresh, local ingredients to make these dishes taste even better. The place, which is perfectly decorated to make you feel like you’re in Asia, will make your food experience a thousand times better. Don’t forget to try one of their cocktails.
La Flauta was started twenty-five years ago with the aim of becoming a key restaurant within Barcelona’s gastronomic offerings. It has an average score of 4.5 on Google MyBusiness (with around 6,500 reviews), so the value for money of this restaurant is indisputable. La Flauta has been open for a long time, and the fact that it has a very large customer base speaks for itself.
Its main attraction, as its name suggests, is the flautas: crunchy baguettes filled with countless combinations of ingredients. You can choose a full or half portion, depending on how hungry you are. Google reviews point out that one of the best options is the flute of sobrassada, camembert, walnuts, and honey; but we are sure that any other combination, cold or hot, will be able to captivate you. They also serve montaditos, salads, salads, and all kinds of tapas, as well as grilled meat and fish, and vegetables.
Alta Taberna Paco Meralgo proposes a different way of tapas in Barcelona‘s Eixample. Its peculiarity lies in the raised tables with stools and the minimalist decoration, which give the space of this place a cozy and relaxed air in which to snack on tapas and portions without having to give up the quality and exquisiteness of the good food that is served. You can find it in the recommended restaurants in Barcelona.
The clever way this restaurant was named says a lot about it. “Paco Meralgo” is a word play that sounds like “Pa’ comer algo.” And that’s exactly why most people go to him: to eat something, but not in any way. Sitting down for lunch or dinner at the Paco Meralgo Restaurant is an adventure. Let yourself be surprised by how unique and good the tapas, half portions, and montaditos are at one of the most unique restaurants in Barcelona. They are made and served quickly and efficiently.
With a warming and elegant ambience, Can Travi Nou is proud of its commitment with local and in-season ingredients. Each dish is carefully prepared by expert chefs, using innovative culinary techniques to offer authentic and surprising flavours. A gastronomical experience of quality and tradition, with more than 30 years of experience, in a Catalan “masia” known for its rustic spaces and the touch with nature.
Can Travi Nou offers also an ideal place for weddings, birthdays, events and large group celebrations, some clients have even qualified it as a “paradise inside Barcelona.”
The Basque restaurant Taktika Berri is located in L’Antiga Esquerra de l’Eixample and has some 25 years of experience in preparing high-quality Basque cuisine. In it, you can enjoy authentic local dishes prepared by professionals who have the mission of sharing with you their specialties, among which fish, potato omelet, clams, and cod stand out.
Are you craving tapas? At Taktika Berri you can enjoy the excellent cuisine of snacks and category portions at a very affordable price. Another of its specialties is the pincho service. Savoring this delicacy (from its magnificent Pintxos Bar) accompanied by one of its formidable wines or beers will transport you to the Basque Country… without having to travel for 6 hours by car!
Just a few minutes away from the “Parque del Turó” and Casa Milá, we can find one of the best restaurants and most recommended in the whole of Barcelona: “Patrón”. The service and quality are of notable acclaim and represent the best of Barcelonian gastronomy – suitable for all audiences as it is a fusion of Kitchen, Gastrobar, Cocktail Bar and charcuterie. Willing to adapt to each of their clients’ needs.
Thanks to its interesting décor you will feel as if you were inside a boat that goes further than just impressing your palate – its classic spectacles on different days of the week, also help your body and soul enjoy. An experience that if accompanied by a good paella or a King Crab burger, would be perfect.
With more than three decades of experience, this restaurant offers the best service and selection of dishes of the highest quality, such as the lamb – the main character on offer. At the Asador de Aranda Tibidabo, you will experience the authentic flavour of Spanish food, fresh and in-season ingredients, prepared with traditional techniques, but presented in a sophisticated matter.
Some dishes stand out for the regulars, such as the oven-cooked lamb, blood sausage, grilled peppers, and of course the pig. At the centre of Barcelona’s “higher area”, the architecture and decorations surpass the rest of buildings around it – the establishment is also known for its terrace with garden and the spacious main dining room.
This high-class Michelin-Star-holder restaurant is proud of offering dishes prepared with high-quality ingredients and avant-garde culinary techniques. Chef Fran López leads a team of cooking experts that work to create dishes that are real culinary art pieces. The attention to detail and creativity on each dish are exceptional, and each bite is an explosion of flavours.
With an elegant and sophisticated décor, Xerta Restaurant is the ideal place to enjoy a romantic dinner or a business lunch. The extensive Wine menu and high-quality liqueurs compliment perfectly the delicious food.
People say, “A full belly makes for a happy heart,” but deciding where to eat isn’t always easy. And if you’re in Barcelona, where there’s a new restaurant on every corner, each one more interesting and appealing than the last, things get even more complicated. Even more so if you have to make this choice with other people.
But don’t worry—we want to make your life simpler and give you and your guests a great evening. As you’ve seen, Catalan city has restaurants for all tastes, and many of them prove that variety doesn’t have to mean low quality: you may have fast and pleasant tapas with coworkers.
